6. Troubleshooting

■ This device features a motor with a function that protects against pa-
per jams and overloads.
■ Do not use the shredder continuously for longer than
■ Limit continuous use of the device to a maximum of 2 minutes,
followed by a pause of at least 15 minutes with the device swit-
ched off. The motor switches off automatically when the device is
overloaded (after a minimum of 15 minutes).
■ The device switches off automatically when the maximum sheet capa-
city has been exceeded.
In either case, proceed as follows:
■ Unplug the device at the socket.
■ Wait at least 15 minutes until the overload protection has reset.
■ Remove any paper sticking out of the device by pulling it up and out
of the feed shaft (3).
■ Reconnect the device to the power supply and set the operating switch
(5) to REV.
■ Pull any remaining paper up and out of the feed shaft (3).
■ Switch the device back and forth between AUTO and REV as needed.
■ To return to standby mode, set the operating switch (5) to the AUTO
position.
