■ Do not iron over zips, studs, clips etc. to prevent any scratching of the coating on the
bottom of the iron.
■ Open the water reservoir cap only to fi ll the water reservoir. Otherwise keep the cap
closed while operating the iron.
■ Place the device on the adapter or on its base and on an even, stable and heat-
resistant surface during and shortly after use.
NOTE: You might notice a slight odour the fi rst time you use the device. This is harmless
and will cease as you use the device.

Filling the Water Reservoir

CAUTION!
■ Always pull out the mains plug before you top up/empty the water reservoir. Always
pull the plug and never the cable.
■ Use tap water. Distilled water may have an adverse effect on the integrated lime-
scale fi lter.
■ Never pour any additives into the water reservoir. This could destroy the device and
safe working is no longer guaranteed.
■ Never exceed the maximum fi ll level (note max marking on the water reservoir!).
The water reservoir (6) needs to be fi lled for steam-ironing or spraying. If you only want
to dry-iron, there is no need for this.
1. Make sure that the device is not connected to the mains power. Move the steam
quantity control (10) to position 0 (no steam) and the temperature control (5) to posi-
tion MIN (off) (turn MIN (off) to marking (14)).
2. Flip open the water reservoir cap (9). Please note that it cannot be completely de-
tached from the device.
3. Fill the reservoir (6) up to the max marking with tap water. It holds approx. 300 ml.
4. Firmly shut the water reservoir cap (9). It must engage audibly.
Heating Up the Iron
1. Check the label in the garment for the required ironing temperature (see the "Ironing
Recommendations" chapter) and set this temperature using the temperature con-
trol (5).
2. Move the steam quantity control (10) to position 0 (no steam).
3. Place the device on an even, stable and heat-resistant surface.
4. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed mains socket that is easily accessible.
The operating lamp (13) lights up.
5. The device starts to heat up. As this happens, the temperature control lamp (2) lights
up. When it goes out, the bottom of the iron has reached the set temperature and
you can start ironing.
