Device Functions

• The device features electronic temperature control which reliably sets and main-
tains the chosen temperature while the iron is connected to the mains power.
• You can use the steam quantity control (10) to choose how much steam the device
emits.
• The device has an automatic switch-on function and an automatic safety
switch-off function. Both work with the device in both the horizontal and vertical
position:
1. When you plug the mains plug into the plug socket, the operating lamp (13) and
the temperature control lamp (2) light up. The device starts to heat up.
2. As soon as you don't move the device for 30 seconds (horizontal position) or
8 minutes (upright position), the device automatically goes back into stand-by
(automatic safety switch-off function) and the operating lamp (13) fl ashes. CAU-
TION: It takes a little while for the bottom of the iron (7) to cool down. Even
once the device is in stand-by mode, never leave it unattended while it is
still connected to the mains power!
3. As soon as you move the device again it switches on (automatic switch-on func-
tion) and the operating lamp (13) lights up constantly.
• The device switches off if it overheats.
• The anti-drip system prevents water from dripping out of the bottom of the iron
(7) at low temperatures by switching off the steam generation function. NOTE: The
anti-drip system may cause a clicking noise during the heating-up or cooling-down
process. This is normal and does not indicate a defect.
• Thanks to the ceramic coating on the bottom of the iron (7), the device slides
effortlessly over the fabric during ironing.
• The limescale fi lter of the device removes the limescale from the water in the water
reservoir (6). However, please note that it is not possible to prevent the formation of
limescale entirely.
• The self-cleaning function removes limescale residues from the device.

Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
■ Danger of suffocation from plastic fi lms and bags! Keep children and animals away
from the packaging material.
■ Water residues in the water reservoir are attributable to the fact that this device has
been tested and do not constitute a defect.
• Unpack the items supplied and check them for completeness (see the "Items Sup-
plied and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. If the device, adapter,
plug or mains cable does have damage, do not use the device(!), but contact our
customer service department.
• Before using the device, remove all packaging materials and any labels that may be
on the device and are used for protection during transportation or for advertising.
