Connecting and removing the battery

•
Insert the battery into the base of the
appliance, as shown on the illustration. Push
the battery until it latches in.
•
Press the locking button (4) on either side
before removing the battery, and disengage
the battery from the base of the appliance.
Only use batteries of the following type.
Using any other batteries could cause
serious injury or damage the tool.
CDA1051: FPB-1800L, 18V Lithium-Ion.
CDA1053: FPB-1800N, 18V NiMH.
The following charger can be used to
charge these batteries.
CDA1052: FPL-1800 (Lithium-Ion and NiMH).
CDA1054: FPL-1800N (NiMH only).
4. OPERATION
Always follow the safety notes and the
relevant safety code.
Switching on and off
•
This machine is equipped with a safety switch.
•
Start the machine by pressing the "lock off"
button (to disengage the switch) and switch on
the machine.
•
Release the (On/Off) switch to switch the
machine off.
Speed control

The speed of the saw blade can be controlled with
the rotary knob at the top of the jig saw.
The higher the position, the higher the speed.
The highest position is 6. The ideal sawing speed
will depend on the profile and the tooth of the saw
blade and on the material you want to saw. For
soft materials, select a reasonably high speed and
a coarse tooth. If you want to saw hard materials,
select a lower speed and a fine tooth.

Pendulum setting

For an optimum sawing result you must set the
way in which the teeth of the saw blade
grip the material. You do this by adjusting the
pendulum (8).
•
Soft material (wood, plastics etc.): set the
pendulum to level II or III. For a sharp saw cut,
use pendulum level 0 or I.
•
Medium-hard material (hardwood, aluminium
etc.): set the pendulum depending on the
application. For thin material use pendulum
level 0, or I if you are working with rasps or
knives.
•
Hard material (steel etc.): set the pendulum to
level 0.
•
Curves: set pendulum to level 0.
You can adjust the pendulum level while the
appliance is in operation.

The jig saw is fitted with a guard (10). Make sure
that this guard is always mounted correctly while
the jig saw is in use.
Sawing
•
Switch on the jig saw.
•
Place the bottom plate of the appliance on the
work piece.
•
Move slowly towards the previously drawn
sawing line and press the jig saw forward
slowly. Press the bottom plate firmly against
the work piece. If you do not do this the jig saw
is likely to vibrate and the saw blade will break.
Let the jig saw do the work. Do not press
too hard on the jig saw.
Cutting in

If the starting position of the work piece to be sawn
is not the side, or if no hole has been drilled, you
must cut in. To do this, proceed as follows:
•
Put the jig saw on the rounded front of the
bottom plate.
•
Switch on the appliance and slowly lower the
jig saw until it touches the work piece.
•
Let the jig saw cut into the work piece gently
without forcing it.

Hvis startpositionen i arbejdsemnet, der skal
saves i, ikke er på siden, eller hvis der ikke er
boret et hul, skal du lave et indstik i arbejdsemnet
med værktøjet. Dette gøres som følger:
•
Sæt stiksaven på den rundede front på sålen.
•
Tænd for værktøjet, og sænk derefter
stiksaven, indtil det rører ved arbejdsemnet.
•
Lad stiksaven stikke let i arbejdsemnet, uden
at tvinge den.
•
Når du er gennem arbejdsemnet, skal du tage
stiksaven ud af hullet.
•
Sæt værktøjet i normal position i det udsavede
hul, og fortsæt med savningen.
Du kan også lave indstikshul ved først at bore
et hul i arbejdsemnet. For at gøre dette skal du
bruge en bit, der laver et hul, der er stort nok til
savklingen. Nu kan du udføre trinnene, der er
beskrevet under ‚Sådan saver du'.

Værktøjet er udstyret med en LCD-skærm:
•
Der tændes for skærmen ved at trykke én
gang på skærmknappen (13). Der slukkes for
skærmen ved at trykke på skærmknappen
igen.
•
Ur- (14) og minut- (15) ikonerne angiver, hvor
mange minutter der kan arbejdes, før batteriet
skal genoplades (kun lithium-ion-batteri).
•
Batteri-ikonet (16) viser, hvor meget strøm der
er tilbage på batteriet. Hver opladningsbjælke
angiver ca. 10% af batteriets fulde opladning.
Når der vises 10 bjælker, er batteriet fuldt
opladet.

5. SERVICE &
VEDLIGEHOLDELSE
Kontroller, at værktøjet ikke er tilsluttet,
når der udføres vedligeholdelsesarbejde
på motoren.
Dette værktøj er konstrueret således, at
det kan fungere længe med et minimum af
vedligeholdelse. Fortsat tilfredsstillende brug
afhænger af korrekt vedligeholdelse og regel
mæssig rengøring af værktøjet.
Rengøring
Ventilationsrillerne skal holdes rene for at
forhindre, at værktøjet overophedes. Værktøjets
kabinet skal jævnligt renses med en blød klud,
helst efter hver brug. Hold ventilationsrillerne
fri for støv og snavs. Hvis snavset ikke vil gå af,
anvendes en blød klud fugtet med sæbevand.
Brug aldrig opløsningsmidler som benzin, sprit,
salmiakspiritus, etc. Disse opløsningsmidler kan
beskadige plastikdelene.
Smøring
Værktøjet kræver ikke yderligere smøring.
Fejl
Skulle der opstå en fejl, f. eks. ved nedslidning
af en del, skal du kontakte serviceadressen på
garantikortet. I slutningen findes et udvidet afsnit,
der viser, hvilke dele der kan bestilles.
Miljø
For at forhindre, at værktøjet beskadiges under
transport leveres den i en solid emballage, der
fortrinsvis består af genanvendeligt materiale.
Du bedes derfor udnytte mulighederne for, at
emballagen genbruges.
Defekt og/eller kasseret elektrisk udstyr
skal afleveres på en passende
genbrugsstation.
