2. SYMBOL EXPLANATION, LABELS

This symbol is used when your health is at risk, e.g. from an electric shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important notes in these operating
instructions that must be observed strictly.
The "arrow" symbol indicates that special advice and notes on operation are provided.

3. INTENDED USE

The product is a fibre optic power meter and for testing fibreoptic cables and connections.
The PM-22 ensures that the quality of the optical output to be measured or the connected opti-
cal fibreglass cable corresponds to the specifications (absolute power measurement).
Furthermore, the power difference of different optical outputs or the connected optical cables
can be determined (relative power measurement).
Additionally, a fibreoptic cable can be optically inspected by means of a built-in laser.
The result is displayed on the LC display.
At the input, optical fibre cables with plugs FC (2.5 mm), ST (2.5 mm) and SC are supported.
The voltage is supplied via 3 AA batteries.
The safety provisions and standards for operation of lasers must be observed.
Any other use than described above may cause damage to the product.
