UNPACKING
Check all the parts for completeness and damage after unpacking.
Damaged parts must not be used for safety reasons. In case of any damage contact our customer
service.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
You can charge the battery in two ways:
1. Connect the USB cable to the IDSO on one side, and to the optional USB power supply (5 V/2 A) on
the other.
2. Connect the USB Y-cable to the IDSO on one side, and to two free USB ports of your PC on the other.
Charge the battery fully prior to first use.
INSTALLING THE APP
Go to your APP store, search for the APP "Voltcraft WIFI Scope" and install it.

MAKING MEASUREMENTS

1. Measurements with the tablet in direct mode
In this mode, the IDSO creates a WIFI hotspot. This is the factory setting. On the bottom of the oscillo-
scope there is a sticker showing the default network name and password. To switch the oscilloscope on,
press the button (6) until the LED power indicator lights up. Once the USB/WIFI LED flashes slowly, the
hotspot is active. Connect the tablet to the hotspot. Click on "Settings", then on "WLAN" and establish a
connection to the IDSO network. To start the measurement push the IDSO APP.
If no connection can be established, proceed as follows:
Close the ISDO APP. Press the Easylink button until the USB/WLAN LED goes out. The oscilloscope
restarts and is now in direct mode again. If the oscilloscope does not restart, switch the device off and then
on again.
2. Measurements with the tablet in indirect mode
In this mode, the IDSO and the tablet connect via an external WIFI router. If the IDSO APP is still running in
the background, close it first. Connect the tablet to the WIFI router. To this end, click on "Settings" and then
on "WLAN". Now open the IDSO APP and click as follows: MENU → Utility → WI-FI Config → Indirect
Mode. Enter the router password in the window and confirm by pushing "Apply". Press the Easylink button
until the USB/WLAN LED goes out. The oscilloscope restarts and connects to the WIFI router. The IDSO
APP displays a notification. If the oscilloscope does not restart, switch the device off and then on again.
The measuring signal should only be applied to the internal conductor. The external con-
ductor (reference earth) is connected to the earth potential (protective earth conductor)
Check the measuring device and its measuring leads for any damage before each measurement. Never
take any measurements if the protecting insulation is defective (torn, missing, etc.).
• To eliminate the risks of electric shock, do not directly or indirectly touch the connections/measuring
points during measurements.
• Never touch the probes outside of the marked handling area during a measurement. There is a risk of
fatal electric shock.
• Do not use the device shortly before or after a thunderstorm (lightning! / high-power surges!). Make sure
that your hands, shoes, clothing, the floor, the measuring device and/or measuring lines, circuits and
circuit components are always dry.
CLEANING
Before cleaning the device, switch it off and disconnect it from the USB cable.
Live components may be exposed if the covers are opened or parts are removed, unless
this can be done without tools.
Prior to cleaning or repairing of the device, all cables have to be detached and the device
has to be turned off.
• Do not use scouring, chemical or aggressive cleaning agents such as benzene, alcohol or similar chemi-
cals. These might attack the surface of the device. Furthermore, the fumes are explosive and hazardous
to your health. Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes or the
like for cleaning
• For cleaning the device or the display and the measuring cables, use a clean, slightly damp, fuzz-free,
antistatic cloth.
DISPOSAL
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
