The hanging scales HS-10 and HS-30 have been designed using state-of-the-art
technology. The product meets the requirements of the current European and national
guidelines. Conformity has been proven and the relevant statements and documents have
been deposited at the manufacturer.
We kindly request the user to follow the operating instructions to preserve this condition
and to ensure safe operation!
PRESCRIBED USE
The device is intended for high-accuracy weighing of objects with a weight of up to 10kg
(HS-10) or 30kg (HS-30). Use the device in dry ambient conditions only. Do not expose the
device to humidity! As power supply, use three micro batteries of type AAA (HS-10) or two
lithium round cells of type CR-2032 (HS-30) only.
Any use other than the one described above damages the product. Moreover, this involves
dangers such as e.g. short circuit, fire, etc. No part of the product must be opened,
modified or rebuilt!
SCOPE OF DELIVERY
HS-10:
hook (retractable), batteries (3 x AAA batteries), operating manual
HS-30:
hook, batteries (2 x CR-2032 batteries), integrated tape measure, operating manual.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

In the case of any damages which are caused due to the failure to
observe these operating instructions, the guarantee will expire. We do
not assume liability for resulting damages!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury
caused by improper use or the failure to observe the safety instructions.
The guarantee will expire in any such case.
An exclamation point inside a triangle indicates important notes in this
operating manual which have to be observed.
This product is CE-tested and complies with all relevant guidelines and
standards.
The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is
inadmissible because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
Always observe the safety instructions, warnings and the chapter „Prescribed
Use" in order to ensure safe operation.
Hanging scales are not a toy! Keep them out of reach of children!
Do not expose the device to humidity or liquids. The device must be used
under appropriate weather conditions only or with appropriate protection in
case of outdoor use.
The hanging scale is a precise measuring instrument. Operation in
environments with strong electromagnetic radiation (electric engines, mobile
phones, transmitters, etc.) might involve deviations of the indicated values.
Please avoid disturbing ambient conditions such as air drafts, vibrations or
strong temperature variations.
The guarantee will expire in case of opening or overloading the scale (except
battery replacement).
Do not use the hanging scale for dynamic weighing.
Do not leave permanent loads hanging on the scale. This might damage the
measuring mechanism.
Strictly avoid shocks and overload of the scale beyond the indicated maximum
load. This might damage the scale (risk of breakage).
Always make sure that no people or objects are under the load to be weighed.

They might be injured or damaged respectively.
The hanging scale does not comply with the German law concerning medical

Instructions concerning the place of installation
- avoid extreme temperature variations e.g. by using the product next to the
heating or in direct sunlight;
- protect the hanging scale against direct air drafts due to open windows or
doors;
- avoid vibrations while weighing;
- protect the hanging scale against high air humidity, fumes and dust;
- do not expose the device to strong humidity for a longer period of time.
Protect the hanging scale against condensing water that forms e.g. when the
device is brought from a cold into a warm environment. Wait approx. 2 hours
until the device has reached room temperature.

INSERTING/REPLACING THE BATTERIES

For operation, the hanging scale requires three micro batteries of type AAA (HS-10) or two
lithium round cells of type CR-2032 (HS-30).
Battery indication „LOW-BAT"
When the batteries are exhausted, the LC display „
batteries). If this indication appears, immediately replace the batteries. Due to insufficient
battery capacity it is not possible to ensure precise measuring values.
Battery Replacement
To insert/replace the batteries, proceed as follows:
HS-10:
• Carefully open the battery compartment
(4) on the back of the hanging scale and
remove the battery compartment cover
(3).
• Remove the empty batteries and replace
them by three new ones of type „micro"
(AAA). Observe correct polarity (see
figure or imprint on the battery
compartment).
• Put the battery compartment cover back onto the hanging scale until it locks into place.
HS-30:
• Carefully open the battery compartment
(1) on the back of the hanging scale by
removing the two screws with a suitable
screwdriver and by removing the battery
compartment cover.
• Remove the empty batteries and replace
them by two new ones of type CR-2032.
Please observe correct polarity (2). Insert the new batteries as shown in the figure. The
negative pole must be directed towards the battery compartment cover.
• Place the battery compartment cover back onto the hanging scale and fasten it by means
of the screws.
Always observe correct polarity of the batteries. Wrongly inserted batteries
might destroy the device. In this case, the guarantee will expire!
If you do not use the hanging scale for a longer period of time, remove the
batteries from the device and keep them separately, because leaking battery
liquid might damage the device.
Do not let batteries lie around openly. There is the risk of batteries being
swallowed by children!
Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when getting into
contact with skin!
Do not try to recharge batteries and do not throw them into fire!
