the weighing plate (1).
• Wait until the weight indication (12) is stable and press the TARE
key (5) again. The display now indicates „PASS".
• Remove the 20g calibarting weight from the weighing plate and
switch the scale off by pressing the „ON/OFF" key (6).
Please handle the calibrating weight with care and touch it
with fabric gloves only. Any contamination involves weight
changes.
Only this way a sufficient accuracy of the
calibration is possible.
Switching the scale off
• Switch the Pocket Scale off by pressing the „ON/OFF" key(6) .
• To save battery capacity, the Pocket Scale is equipped with an
automatic shut-off function („Auto Shut OFF"). This function
automatically switches off the device, when the display indicates
„0.000" for approx. 5-6 minutes.
Selecting the unit of weight
By pressing the mode key (3) you can choose between the following
units of weight: „g" (grams) · „oz" (ounces) · „dwt" (penny weight) · „ct"
(carat).
Maintenance and care
Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, lint-free, antistatic cloth
only. Never use abrasives or solvents for cleaning the device! Do not
use a moistened cleansing cloth.
Disposal
Please dispose of the defective and unserviceable device in
accordance with the current statutory requirements.

Battery replacement
To insert/replace the batteries, proceed as follows:
• Carefully open the battery compartment (7) on the back of the
Pocket Scale and remove the battery compartment cover.
• Remove the exhausted batteries and replace them by four new
batteries of the type micro (AAA). Ensure correct polarity (see
figure on the fold-out page or imprint on the battery compartment).
• Put the battery compartment cover back onto the Pocket Scale
until it locks into place.
Always observe correct polarity of the batteries. Wrongly
inserted batteries might destroy the device; the guarantee
will expire. If you do not use the Pocket Scale for a longer
period of time, remove the batteries from the device and keep
them separately, because leaking battery liquid might
damage the device.
Do not let batteries lie around openly. There is the risk of
batteries being swallowed by children! Leaking or damaged
batteries might cause acid burns when getting into contact
with skin. Never try to recharge batteries. Do not throw them
into fire!
Environmental note!
The user is legally obliged (battery regulation) to return used batteries
and storage batteries (from round cell to lead storage batteries). Do
not dispose of used batteries via the household rubbish.
You can return used batteries and storage batteries free of charge to
our subsidiaries, to our central office in Hirschau as well as to special
recycling facilities of your town which are legally obliged to take back
used batteries. Make your contribution to environmental protection!
Operation
Weighing
• Place the Pocket Scale onto a horizontal and stable surface.
• Switch the Pocket Scale on by pressing the „ON/OFF" key (6) .
Now, the device performs a „Power Up" test. For approx. 1 second
all segments of the LC display (2) are indicated. Then, the weight
indication (12) indicates „0.000".
