Phone book

The phone book menu provides two different memories. The private phone
book of the handset can store up to 50 phone numbers including names.
The general phone book of the base station is designed for up to 40 entries.
The private phone book's entries can only be accessed via the handset with
which the original input was made, while the entries of the general phone
book can be used by all handsets registered.
Always enter the area access code with the phone numbers so that the
telephone can also assign incoming local calls to a phone book entry.
After opening the phone book, entries can be selected alphabetically. To do
this, press the buttons to enter the corresponding initial letters of the phone
book entry.
8.12.1 Entering names to the phone book
The digit keys are assigned certain letters to enable name to be entered in
the phone book. Letters and digits are entered by pressing the relevant key
the respective number of times. To enter a space, press 1 once. Press the
button (9) once to switch from upper-case letters to lower-case letters and
vice versa. To enter the same letter twice, press the button to enter the letter.
Wait until the cursor moves on. Enter the letter again. In case of a wrong
entry it is possible to delete the last digit using the Delete button (13).
8.12.2 Entering phone numbers in the phone book
Ringing melodies can be assigned to the entries of the private phone book
so that you know who is calling when the phone rings. If no special melody
is assigned the generally applicable tone rings.
If the name entered already exists in the phone book, the corresponding
message appears. Press OK (3) to overwrite the current phone book entry
or use the Delete button (13) to modify the name just entered.
If the memory capacity of phone numbers is full, a corresponding message
appears when an attempt is made to store another number. An entry in the
phone book must be deleted first of all in order to create space.
8.12.3 Dialling phone numbers from the phone book
Select a phone book entry. The Call button (12) is then used to establish the
connection.

Call number display (CLIP)
The caller number display function is an optional service offered by
telephone network providers. Contact your network provider for further
information.
If this function is provided by your telephone service, the number of the
caller appears in the display when the telephone rings. If this phone number
is stored in the phone book, the name entered in the phone book appears in
addition to the phone number. If the caller has suppressed transmission of
his phone number, the corresponding message appears in the display. The
phone number is not displayed and, as a result, is not stored in the calls list.
