Charging the batteries

When preparing to use the handset, place it in the base station or charging
station, with its display facing the front, for at least 14 hours. The handset
warms up during the charging process. This is normal and does not
represent a risk. Do not charge the handset with charging units from other
manufacturers. Failure to charge the batteries properly can lead to
telephone malfunction. The current battery charge status is indicated in the
display:

Tone or Pulse dialling method
The telephone can be connected to both analogue connections (pulse
dialling) and digital connections (tone dialling). The equipment is set to
TONE dialling (DTMF) at the factory. In case the telephone fails to function
at the connection given, refer to Chapter 7.4 for information on how to
change the telephone to Pulse dialling mode.

Setting the time
Chapter 7.5 explains how to set the time on the handset when starting it up
for the first time.

Switching the handset on and off
In order to save the batteries, press the “ button for two seconds to
switch the handset on or off. No calls can be received when the handset is
switched off but the base station still rings in the event of an incoming call.
