Now, the accumulator may be taken out.
If you leave the accumulator plugged in and it is required for the accumulator the
capacitive recharging program TRICKLE (TRI) will be started automatically; this
means that the accumulator will is capacitively recharged (which naturally does not
apply if the accumulator was only discharged by the DISCHARGE program). The
capacity (C) of the capacitive recharge (C) (trickle) and the time required (hh:mm) are
neither displayed nor added up. Only the current and voltage are always updated.
This is why the charging capacity, discharging capacity, and time always refer to the
program executed.

the charger will no longer process this accumulator.

This accumulator has a memory backup; i.e. the program and the summed-up capa-
city values of the accumulator are stored in case of a current failure. Therefore, never
exchange the accumulator when in a turned-off condition because otherwise the
charger will take over the data which now is no longer valid and, hence, wrong values
would be determined for the new accumulator.
If the charger is turned off while the charging or discharging parameters are being set
the setting will start anew.
The programs can only be continued when the goldcap installed was charged pre-
viously; this requires the charger to have been be turned on for at least two hours.
ATTENTION:
Faulty settings made may cause damage to the accumulator and
charger: the accumulator pack will either be incompletely charged
or excessively charged. There will be no guarantee in such a case.

No overcharge will occur with this charger if all parameters are entered correctly.
This charger makes unnecessary any discharging prior to charging. The accumulator
is charged to its 100 %, which rate is possible at the moment, starting from its actual
charging condition.
The charging and discharging cycle is controlled regardless of the charging conditi-
ons of the accumulator.
The charging and discharge currents are controlled by the microcomputer.
The discharge current of the charger has been chosen to be from 125 mA to 1.0 A to
suit practice.
The charger uses automatic trickle recharging.
This charger has an automatic fan control which turns on by itself while the accumu-
lator is being charged and discharged.
The charger uses automatic accumulator monitoring (charging voltage and charged
volume). Such automatic accumulator identifier notices straight away if an accumu-
lator is connected or disconnected from terminals. The REFRESH program is used
for exhaustive discharging.
A memory effect does not occur (as charging and discharge currents are clocked).
This causes a high internal resistance of the accumulator to decrease and its current
carrying capacity to increase.
Accumulator efficiency is enhanced (the relation of the charge volume required to the
capacity which can be drawn).
The charger has a memory back-up. In case of current failure, the data of the accu-
mulator and its actual function remain stored up to two days. Reconnecting the char-
ger to the mains causes the program to continue. This requires the charger to have
been connected to the mains and turned on for at least two hours.
The (alphanumeric) LC display is used to visualize
- the program (CHA, DIS, CHK, CYC, ALV, SLF)
- the accumulator type (Ni)
- the number of cells
- the charging mode (automatic / manual)
- the charging condition of the accumulator (battery symbol)
- the actual accumulator voltage (U)
- the actual charging and discharge current (I)
- the actual or stored charging data (C) and discharging data (D) in mAh or Ah
- the time required in hours and minutes (hh:mm)
There are 3 function keys to input the programs and settings.
