The selectable charging types are CHA, DIS, CHK, CYC, ALV, and SLF.
Once the charger has finished charging the accumulator pack RDY will appear in the
display. The accumulator may now be taken out.
The three keys serve for switching between the two display modes while the pro-
gram is being executed.
In case of current failure of if the charger is plugged out or turned off the data and
settings will remain stored unless the accumulator pack is disconnected.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION NOTE:
The law (exhausted-batteries regulation) obliges the final user to
return all of the exhausted batteries and accumulators (from but-
ton cells to lead accumulators); it is prohibited to dispose of them
via the domestic waste.
You may return your exhausted batteries and accumulators free
of charge to both our branch workshops and our central works-
hop based in Hirschau and to municipal disposers (valuable
materials yards) which are obliged to accept them.
Do make your contribution to environmental protection.

The capacity of an accumulator meanwhile is given by renowned manufacturers to
be C/3, which means that a 3,000 mAh accumulator, for instance, will reach these
3,000 mAh at a discharge current of 1 A (= C/3). However, if a manufacturer indica-
tes a discharge current of C/10 (= 300 mA) for a 3,000 mAh accumulator we can pre-
suppose that this accumulator cannot deliver 3,000 mAh if the discharge current is
1.0 A. Consequently, the accumulator for which C/10 is indicated will be the worse
accumulator.
Accumulators will discharge by themselves over time. This property is called a self-
discharge.

3. Safety instructions

The structure of this charger complies with protective class II. The
charger may be operated solely with 230 V A.C. voltage networks.
The charger is exclusively used to charge nickel/cadmium and
nickel/metal hydride accumulator packs which are composed of accu-
mulators of the Mono, Baby, Sub-C, and Mignon sizes. Accumulator
packs may comprise from 1 to 20 cells. The rated capacity of those
accumulator types (given in mAh or Ah) has to range between 500
mAh and 20 Ah.
Lithium ion accumulators may neither be charged nor may be dischar-
ged with this charger.
Dry-cell batteries (primary cells) may not be charged with this charger.
Chargeable alkaline batteries may not be charged with this charger.
Non-rechargeable alkaline batteries may not be charged with this
charger.
Take care of correct polarity when connecting the accumulators.
Use the device only in dry, closed rooms.
Never operate chargers unattended.
Keep mains-connected devices and chargers out of the reach of children.
The VDE regulations will apply, specifically DIN VDE 0700, part 29.
A maximum of 35 V D.C. are applied to the connecting terminals of the
charger.
