Problem:
Low charging capacity (C) although the accumulator was discharged
Remedy:
Change the mode, i.e. if the accumulator was charged in the AUTO mode charge it
with the CHECK program in the MANUAL mode or if the accumulator was charged in
the MANUAL mode treat it with the CHECK program in the AUTO mode. If the char-
ging capacity C still is too low the accumulator is defective.
Problem:
EMV pulses, electrostatic discharge = ESD, surge pulse or cable-carried interference
immunity
Remedy:
- No message in the display or no response:
Turn the charger on and off by the mains switch
- Error message. Here, the hardware error identifier has responded to safeguard the
accumulator:
Disconnect the accumulator, connect it anew, and enter program
Problem:
Considerable heat developing on the casing
Remedy:
- The high working capacity of the charger causes heat to develop at the upper and
lower sides of the casing; there is no defect; take care of proper ventilation (see
chapter 3: Safety instructions).
ATTENTION
Repairs other than those described above should exclusively be made
by authorized expert personnel.

Commercial battery holders are not designed for such charge currents
and, therefore, could possibly become overheated at the contact
points. This causes the accumulator to be heated up to an inadmissib-
ly high degree and the plastic to deform.
Charging cables of a small cross-section and preassembled lines fit-
ted with jack connectors or the like are not allowed.
In case of camcorder accumulators or the like, it is indispensable for
you to observe the operating instructions for the accumulators and
charge current. If you do not, we cannot preclude that the internal
fuses of the accumulator pack could be destroyed.
For Mignon accumulators, note that they have to be quickly chargeable.
In commercial and industrial facilities, the regulations for the preventi-
on of accidents as laid down by the professional trade association for
electrical equipment and devices need to be observed.
Measuring devices used at schools, training facilities, do-it-yourself
and hobby workshops should not be handled unless supervised by
trained, responsible personnel
Live components might possibly be exposed when covers are opened
or parts are removed unless this is possible by hand. Likewise,
connecting points could carry a voltage. Before making a compensati-
on, maintenance, repair or exchange of parts, disconnect the charger
from all voltage sources if the device has to be opened. If it is then
required to make a compensation, maintenance or repair with the
device opened and under a voltage this should only be done by SPE-
CIALIZED PERSONNEL who are conversant with the hazards involved
and the relevant instructions.
Capacitors in the device could still be charged even though the device
was disconnected from all voltage sources.
Make sure to use only fuses of the specified type and the specified
amperage rating as substitutes. Using repaired fuses or jumpering the
fuse holder is inadmissible.
A change of fuses should only be made by specialized personnel who
are conversant with the hazards involved and the relevant instructions.
When working on network-connected devices and chargers do not
wear metallic or conductive jewelry such as chains, bracelets, rings or
the like.
