• In order to avoid an electric shock, ensure not to touch, neither
directly nor indirectly, the test probes and the test terminals (test
points) during the measurement.
• Make sure that the voltage between the V/Ohm jack of the mea-
suring instrument and earth does not exceed 300 VDC/VACrms
(CAT II = overvoltage category II)
• Do not use the measuring instrument under unfavourable ambient
conditions or in rooms that contain or may contain combustible
gases, fumes or dusts. Make sure for your own safety that neither
the measuring instrument nor the instrument leads get damp or
wet. Avoid operation in the immediate vicinity of
- strong magnetic fields (loudspeakers, magnets)
- electromagnetic fields (transformers, motors, coils, relays,
contactors, electromagnets, etc.)
- electrostatic fields (charges / discharges)
- transmitting antennas or HF generators
• If there is reason to believe that safe operation has become
impossible, put the device out of operation and secure it against
unintended operation. Safe operation must be presumed to be no
longer possible if
- the device exhibits visible damages
- the device does not function any more
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long
period of time or if
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by
transport.
• Never turn-on the measuring instrument immediately after it has
been brought from a cold into a warm room. Condensation water
that forms may destroy your device. Leave the device turned-off
until it has reached room temperature.
