Hamburg, the 2th May 2012
Dear Graham,
last week, my teacher gave me your adress and I am glad to have found a pen friend in
England. My name is Christina and I am 15 years old. I attend the Alstertal Gymnasium
in Hamburg. I have a little brother and a great sister. I have started English before two
years and I like it very much, although the grammar is hard.
I'm sorry I haven't written sooner. We get so much housework these days, and then on
Tuesday evenings I go to judo classes. On the other evenings I usually meet my friends
and we hear music, go to the cinema or go out on our bikes. At the weekends I have to
help my mother with the shoppings on Saturdays, and on Sundays we often visit family
friends or drive out into the country and go walking. Such is the life here!
English, mathematic and chemistry are now my favourite subjects. We have nice
teachers in these subjects and they are also very funny. The English teacher comes from
Wales. Do you think my English is ok? Remember, I am only learning English since two
years. I hope I haven't made to many faults.
What are you doing this summer? My mum and dad say you should come and stay by
us. Then you could practise your German and we could speak English. We will be here
for most of August. What do you mean?
