Notes on installing the optional recommended electronic speed controller:
If you wish to use an electronic speed controller, the first step is to remove the mechanical motor switch
•
and the associated servo completely; these components are no longer needed. If you are using the
recommended speed controller (No. 7197, with BEC system - receiver power supply from the drive
battery), you can also remove the holder for the receiver cells and the switch in the cover, as these
components are also superfluous.

Speed controller
Enlarge the front cable opening in the RC box to the point where both tin-contact connectors and the
•
battery connector attached to the speed controller can pass through it. Install the speed controller in the
position formerly occupied by the receiver battery, using Velcro tape or double-sided adhesive tape.
Pass the two tin-contact connectors and the battery connector through the hole.
You can now seal the openings with UHU Alleskleber (general-purpose clear adhesive), UHU hart
•
(cellulose adhesive) or strips of adhesive tape. The joints must be watertight! We recommend that you
apply several coats of adhesive until the layers are sufficiently thick and strong. IMPORTANT: since the
RC box is watertight after this procedure, it is essential to leave it open for a long period after each
session, to ensure that any residual damp (i.e. condensation) can dry out completely.
Leave the speed controller switch loose in the RC box once you have switched it on. The model can
•
then be switched on and off by connecting and disconnecting the drive battery.
Connect the motor power wires to the output wires attached to the speed controller, taking care to
•
maintain correct polarity.
Ensure that the speed controller works as expected.

When you are sure that everything is working properly, you can safely take the boat out for its second
maiden run.
