Assembly and operating instructions
1.
Open the transmitter battery compartment cover and insert the dry cells, taking care to maintain correct
polarity: this is accomplished by pressing on the textured areas with both thumbs, and sliding the cover
down and off. Close the compartment again after fitting the batteries.
2.
Remove the model boat's hatch cover, and open the RC box by turning the two side-mounted latches
outwards. Remove the battery box and insert the dry cells, again maintaining correct polarity. Replace
the battery holder in the RC box, and press it down onto the Velcro (hook-and-loop) tape.

3.
Uncoil the receiver aerial, thread it through the opening in the cover of the RC box, and slip it through
the plastic tube. TIP: if you have problems pushing the aerial through the tube, moisten the cable lightly,
and it will slip through more easily. Push the end of the tube into the socket in the deck.
4.
Tie a loose knot in the top end of the aerial to prevent the wire slipping back into the tube. Coil up the
remaining wire inside the RC box and stick it to one side of the container using adhesive tape. Take
care to keep it well away of the arc of movement of the two servos.
5.
Close the RC box again. NOTE: ensure that the wires do not foul the servo output arms in their travel.
6.
Test the functions of the radio control system. Adjust the rudder stick trim lever in such a way that the
rudder is exactly in the 'straight ahead' position.
7.
When you are confident that all is well, it is time to charge up the drive battery and take the boat to the
lake for its first run.
8.
Trimming the model
The propeller shaft angle can be adjusted by loosening the two M3 x 15 mm slot-head screws on the
left-hand side of the rudder unit. If the water is choppy or the wind relatively strong, angle the drive unit
down as shown in the diagram; this lowers the boat's bow at speed, and helps to reduce or even
completely prevent jumping.

Important: don't forget to re-tighten the screws.
