Installation

3.1 Hydraulic integration of the thermal energy meter

ATTENTION!
The sensors are only installed after the hydraulic integration has been
completed.
ATTENTION!
Please observe the flow direction of the VFS measuring tube. The flow
direction is indicated by an arrow on the outside of the plastic pipe.
ATTENTION!
All components of the thermal energy meter must be installed in a dry and
frost-free location. Ensure that no condensation forms on the device.
ATTENTION!
Only use pure water in the heating circuit (no mixtures, no antifreeze)!
ATTENTION!
Please observe the required clearance to pumps! Eddying effects lead to
incorrect thermal energy measurements
Two measuring sections with the necessary sensor technology
are included in the scope of supply for the acquisition of the
measured values.
We recommend installing the VFS measuring tube in the heat
pump flow. The copper pipe with the immersion sleeve for the
EN-4
temperature sensor must then be installed in the heat pump re-
turn flow.
Please observe the direction of flow when installing the plastic
pipe (VFS measuring tube). The flow direction is indicated by an
arrow on the outside of the pipe.
The installation location for both measuring tubes should be as
close to the heat pump as possible (upstream of the consumer
circuit(s)) so that the complete volume flow to and from the heat
pump can be measured.
The screw connections included in the scope of supply enable
simple integration into the heating circuit, and can be used
on the heating side (e.g. upstream of the compact manifold
or of the dual differential pressureless manifold) and/or
on the heat pump side (e.g. installation on the stainless steel
corrugated pipe connection set)

The thermal energy meter electronics module must be mounted
on a wall in the immediate vicinity. The sensor lines are approx.
1.2 m long and must not be extended.
An automatic equalisation is carried out between the two temper-
ature sensors.
