Never operate the measuring instrument in an ope-
ned condition! Danger to life!
Never leave an exhausted battery in the measuring
instrument, because even "leak-proof" batteries
can corrode and thereby release chemicals which
can endanger health or destroy the battery com-
partment.
Used batteries are to be treated as waste requiring
special handling and must therefore be disposed of
without harming the environment. Special collection
containers are provided for this purpose by specia-
list dealers and in scrap yards.
b) Changing the fuse
Make sure that only fuses of the given types and
nominal current ratings are used as replacements.
The use of repaired fuses or the bridging of fuse
holders is not permitted.
To change the mA current input range fuse, disconnect the measu-
ring instrument from the circuit being measured and switch it off.
Remove all connected leads and test probes. Take a suitable
cross-head screwdriver and open the measuring instrument case
as described under "a) Inserting / changing the battery" above. Re-
move the defective fuse and replace this with an identical fuse with
0.3 A quick-blow 250V rating usually with the designation:
F0.3A/250V or F300mA/250V.
After having changed the fuse carefully close the measuring instru-
ment once more. Only put the measuring instrument into operation
once again when the case is securely closed and screwed up.

c) Connecting the instrument leads
Always use only the supplied test leads for measurements. Before
connecting, always check the condition of the connecting plugs
and test probes and check the insulation for damage.
The test leads are approved for voltages up to 600 V max. The
VC333 measuring instrument is designed for voltages up to 600
VDC and VAC rms max., CAT I. Take particular care when dealing
with voltages greater than 25 VAC or 35 V DC.
Never exceed the maximum input levels, because
otherwise damage to the measuring instrument can
endanger life.
d) Putting into service
Basic setting
The measuring instrument is switched on by turning the rotary
switch away from the "OFF" position. When switching on, make
sure that the "Hold" button is not pressed in.
e) Socket configuration
The 8-pin transistor connector is labelled symmetrically. Insert the
voltage-free transistor leads (B) base, (E) emitter and (C) collector,
as indicated, into the connector sockets. Take the pin configuration
for the various transistors from a transistor reference book.
f)
Measuring function switch (rotary switch)
The rotary switch must not under any circum-
stances be moved while the instrument is connec-
