How to operate

Description of control units
Zero key
Press the zero key to set the measured-value display to zero. The
relative display "∆" will appear in the LCD. If the measured value
varies the LCD will signal the difference from the measured value
which was displayed in pressing the zero key. To get into the normal
measuring mode, press the zero key anew, which causes the relati-
ve display "∆" to be extinguished.
Data Hold und Peak Hold keys
- To activate the Data Hold function (freeze the value measured),
press the Hold key. The instantaneous value measured will be
"frozen" and the Hold display
- To deactivate the Data Hold function, press the Hold key anew.
The LDC displays the actual value measured, the Hold display is
extinguished.
- To activate the Peak Hold function (retain the maximum value
measured), hold the Hold key depressed for abt. two seconds
until the peak display "P" appears. The LCD now signals the
maximum value measured that appears during this measurement.
- To deactivate the Peak Hold function, keep the Hold key depres-
sed for abt. two seconds until the peak display "P" is extinguished
in the LCD.
This function is available in the ACA, DCA, ACV, and DCV ranges.
How to deactivate the Automatic Power-Off
The instrument is equipped with an Auto Power Off function (an
automatic power-off device) to save battery current. The instrument
will be switched off automatically if it is not operated for abt. 30
minutes.

Resistance measurement
Turn the functional rotary switch to "Ω
- Connect the black measuring line to the COM jack and the red
measuring line to the + jack.
- Connect the measuring tips to the object to be measured and
read out the value measured.
Note:
Measure resistances only with the tester in a de-energized conditi-
on. Also, discharge all capacitors in the circuit. Measuring resi-
stances with the tester in an energized condition causes a defect to
the instrument.
Continuity test
Turn the functional rotary switch to "Ω
- Connect the black measuring line to the COM jack and the red
measuring line to the + jack.
- Connect the measuring tips to the object to be measured. If the
resistance is less than 100 Ω an acoustic signal will be heard.
