7. CONNECTIONS

All connections have to be made or changed only if the amplifier and all audio devices connected to it is/are
switched off!

7.1 Line sources

An audio unit can separately be connected to one channel (DIRECT INPUT); then it can only be heard via
the respective channel. You can also connect your audio unit to one of the main inputs (MAIN IN/STEREO
IN and AUX IN); this signal then is audible for all channels.
1. Connect up to six audio units to the inputs DIRECT IN. Each unit is only to be monitored via one pair of
headphones. When connecting one of these jacks, the signals of the main inputs are switched off.
2. In stereo mode, up to two units may be connected to the main inputs (MAIN IN/STEREO IN and AUX
IN), which can be monitored via several headphones:
• A unit may be connected to the jack STEREO IN on the front panel or to the jacks MAIN IN on the rear
panel. Both inputs are connected in parallel.
• A second unit may be connected to the jacks AUX IN at the rear panel. This signal is mixed to the master
source.
3. In mono mode, up to four units may be connected to the main inputs (MAIN IN/STEREO IN and AUX
IN), which can be monitored via several headphones:
• Two mono units may be connected to the jacks MAIN IN on the rear panel. Select the mono operating
mode MONO via the MONO/STEREO selector on the front panel.
• To further mono units may be connected to the jacks AUX IN on the rear panel. These signals are mixed
to the master source.
4. Connect up to six headphones to the jacks OUT on the front panel.

7.2 Connection with the mains

Connect the device to the mains with the supplied power supply cable.
The occupation of the connection-cables is as follows:

The earth has to be connected!
If the device will be directly connected with the local power supply network, a disconnection switch with a
minimum opening of 3 mm at every pole has to be included in the permanent electrical installation.
The device must only be connected with an electric installation carried out in compliance with the IEC-
standards. The electric installation must be equipped with a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a maximum
fault current of 30 mA.
