Check whether the nominal width of the press fitting matches the nominal width of the
press collar.
Press collar with catch (Fig. 3):
Press the pin (B/Fig. 3) as shown [2.1/Fig. 3], while simultaneously opening the press
collar by pulling apart at the catch (C/Fig. 3).
Press collar without catch (Fig. 5):
Pull the press collar apart.
Note
for press collars with movable sliding segments (Fig. 4)
To ensure that the press collars function correctly, the sliding segments must be free
to move.
The sliding segments are always pressed back automatically into the correct starting
position by springs.
Ensure that the marking lines on the sliding segments (E/Fig. 4) and the shells (D/Fig.
4) are in alignment in the starting position.
If this is not the case, have the press collars repaired at an authorised workshop.
For moving sliding segments: Check the freedom of movement/position of the sliding
segments.
Note!
Always follow the system supplier's instructions when placing the press collar onto the
press fitting.
Place the press collar over the press fitting (Figs. 3+5).
Press collar with catch (Fig. 3):
Turn [1/Fig. 3] the catch (C/Fig. 3) towards the pin (B/Fig. 3).
Press the pin (B/Fig. 3) as shown [2.1/Fig. 3], while simultaneously pushing the pin into
the catch (C/Fig. 3) until it engages [2.2/Fig. 3].
The pin (B/Fig. 3) must be pushed in as far as possible. Turn the press collar to the
pressing position.
Note!
For nominal width M108 (Fig. 6):
Ensure that the lever (F/Fig. 6) is in alignment with the catch (C/Fig. 6).
Otherwise the catch is not correctly engaged.
Press collar without catch (Fig. 5):
Close the press collar and then turn it to the pressing position.
Open the adaptor jaw.
