Tips on using rechargeable NiCd batteries
• Before recharging batteries, make sure that they have been fully
discharged. The battery state of charge indication on the display
flashes when the batteries are fully discharged.
• Make sure that batteries are fully recharged before use
• Partially recharging batteries can have an adverse effect on their
performance after a while (memory effect)
• Store batteries in the discharged state if they are not to be used
for a relatively long time.
• Never fit batteries having different capacities in the device.
Operating the walkie-talkie
1. To switch the device on, turn the "OFF/VOL" rotary control (on
the top of the device) clockwise beyond the left-hand indexed
position. The desired volume is set by turning the control in the
clockwise direction. The device is now ready to transmit and re-
ceive. Reception is indicated on the display by the transmit to-
wer icon.
2. Press the PTT (Talk) key in order to transmit. Speak with normal
loudness from a distance of roughly 5 to 10 cm into the built-in
microphone. The transmit tower icon appears on the display.
3. To return to the ready-to-receive state, simply release the PTT
key.
Roger beep
The Roger beep marks the end of transmission. Acknowledgement
tones are automatically sent on completing each transmission (fac-
tory setting).

Pour atteindre une performance optimale de votre émetteur-récep-
teur, il convient d'entretenir et de recharger régulièrement les accus.

• Avant de recharger les accus, s'assurer qu'ils ont été complète-
ment déchargés. Quand les accus sont complètement déchar-
gés, l'indicateur lumineux d'état des accus clignote sur l'écran.
• Avant l'utilisation, recharger complètement les accus.
• Des chargements partiels des accus peuvent, après un certain
temps, limiter leur puissance. (effet Memory)
• En cas de longue période d'inutilisation, il faut conserver les ac-
cus déchargés.
• Ne placez jamais des accus de capacités différentes dans l'ap-
pareil.
Maniement de l'émetteur-récepteur
1. Pour mettre l'appareil en service, tournez le bouton de réglage
rotatif "OFF/VOL" (face supérieure de l'appareil) depuis la positi-
on de crantage à gauche dans le sens des aiguilles d'une mont-
re. On peut, en même temps, régler le niveau sonore désiré en
continuant à tourner dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre.
Vous êtes maintenant prêt à émettre et à recevoir. La réception
est signalée sur l'écran grâce au symbole
2. Pour émettre, appuyer sur la touche PTT (« parler »). Parler avec
un niveau de voix normale à une distance d'env. 5 à 10 cm du
microphone intégré. Sur l'écran apparaît le symbole
d'émission ».
3. Pour passer à nouveau en mode « attente de réception », lâcher
simplement la touche PTT.
