3. On/off switch, volume control (OFF/VOLUME).
This control is used to switch the Pocket Com PMR Fun on or
off and to set the desired volume. The Pocket Com PMR Fun is
switched off in the "OFF" position. To switch the device on,
turn the control clockwise beyond the left-hand indexed positi-
on. Press the "Mon" key in order to check the volume; this ge-
nerates noise in the loudspeaker so that you can set the desi-
red volume.
When the Pocket Com PMR Fun is switched on it produces 4
different successive acknowledgement beeps (these can be
disabled). The Pocket Com PMR Fun performs a self-test (ap-
prox. 1 s) and indicates it is ready to operate by displaying
"channel 1". The walkie-talkie is then ready to receive and
transmit.
4. Display

5. Confirmation key [ENTER]/backlighting
After switching on, briefly pressing the Enter key switches the dis-
play backlighting on for roughly 6 seconds. Pressing the Enter key
again switches the backlighting off. Pressing and holding the Enter
key down at the same time as switching the device on (OFF/VOL)
