HXP 120 V
4.5 Shutter control and CAN BUS
As alternative to the shutter on the device (Fig. 6[4]), the shutter in the device can be
controlled via the connections „Trigger in" (Fig. 5[2]), "EXT" (Fig. 5[4]) or the CAN BUS
connection (Figure 5[5]).
It is possible to control the shutter via several connections at a time.
The „Trigger in" input is only processed if the shutter was previously closed by another
way (e.g., by pressing the shutter button). This input is level-triggered, which means that
the shutter will not change position as long as the respective signal is active.
The „EXT" input is provided for connection of a button. This input is flank-triggered, i.e.,
every time the button is pressed the shutter changes its position (like with the integrated
shutter button).
Only devices which are equipped with the specific CAN BUS from Carl Zeiss (e.g.,
microscope) can control the shutter via the CAN BUS connection of the compact light
source. This connection is designed as 15-pin HD SUB-D connector.
The connection should only be made or separated when the device is switched off.
