Start-up

4.1 Installation

Set up the Compact Light Source HXP 120 V so that the front with the controls is
freely accessible and visible. Install the compact light source on a safe and slip-
proof surface. The ventilation slots at the sides and the rear of the device must not
be covered, the free space in the area of the ventilation slots must at least be 150
mm. The cables and optical fibers connected to the Compact Light Source
HXP120C must not create a risk.

4.2 Installing and changing the lamp

Caution: The lamp contains mercury. The handling and safety instructions supplied
by the lamp manufacturer together with the lamp must be observed.
Make sure that all poles are disconnected from the power line before the lamp is
installed or a new lamp fitted in the Compact Light Source HXP 120 V. The
Compact Light Source HXP 120 V must have cooled at least 20 minutes before the
lamp can be installed. (Caution: The parts inside the device (lamp, etc.) take more
time to cool than outside parts).
