The Compact Light Source HXP 120 V must only be connected to a functioning 2-
pole and ground socket outlet. The product is only designed for use in a dry room. It
is not permitted to use the product in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
Disconnect all poles of the device from the power line before connecting a
component to the Compact Light Source HXP 120 V or starting service work which
the user can do (lamp change; fuse change). If the fuses are changed, use only
fuses of the type and rating specified in this document. Using makeshift fuse or
rendering fuses ineffective (shorting the fuse holder, etc.) is forbidden.
The Compact Light Source HXP 120 V is designed for the voltage and frequency
range of 100 ... 240 VAC, 50..60 Hz. In these voltage and frequency ranges, the
product adjusts automatically to the power line voltage. Use of the compact light
source outside the specified ranges can destroy the device and the connected
components.
To avoid damage to the optical fiber connected to the device, the protective filter in
the device (see „5 Operation") must be free of defect (cracks, flaws, etc.). If the
protective filter is not installed or is defective, the optical fiber which is connected to
the device will be destroyed.
The lamp in the device contains highly toxic substances. At the end of the lifecycle,
the lamp must be disposed of as prescribed. The lamp supplier provides the
respective information (e.g., in the documentation supplied with the lamp). The
documentation also contains supplier information about what to do if the lamp
explodes.
