Connectible optical fibers

The light source HXP 120 V has an integrated optical-mechanical dimmer unit. With this
unit, the emitted brightness can be dimmed in 20 steps between 0 ... 100 % without
changing other parameters of the light (e.g., light temperature). The dimmer unit can be
set at a rotary switch at the device or remotely via CAN bus. An LED bar graph on the front
of the device displays the brightness setting of the light source.
Built in the device is a filter holder with protective filter. The filter protects the optical fiber
and the devices connected to it both from infrared radiation (heat protection function) and
from ultraviolet radiation. The protection filter is exposed when the cover of the housing is
removed and can be changed by the user if it is damaged.
2.5 Connectible optical fibers
Connected to the Compact Light Source HXP 120 V can preferably be liquid optical fibers
with a light input of type „Storz, long" and whose transmission characteristic matches the
lamp used. The spectral light distribution of the lamp is specified in the data sheet of the
lamp. The device is optimal for optical fibers with 3 mm active diameter.
