Selection, installation and maintenance of the electrical parts within hazardous areas shall be fulfilled according the
EN60079-14 and the installation instructions of the specific equipment.
The RVA-X ATEX rotary valve should only be exposed to organic or non-metallic dust.
The user has to install detection devices that, in case an explosion is detected, will automatically and instantaneously
stop the RVA-X ATEX rotary valve. These detection devices are not subject of the RVA-X ATEX rotary valve certificate
nor of this user guide.
The airtightness of the rubber blade vanes has to be controlled regularly according to the instructions in this user
manual (see point 4.4.1).

Preventing ignition sources
The following measures have been applied to prevent ignition sources from occurring within the RVA-X ATEX rotary
valve :
Frictional heating in shaft seals.
Frictional heating in bearing.
Frictional heating or sparking from
grinding rotor.
Glowing particles from external
process.
Electric motors and gearboxes
Isolated metal parts may become
electrostatically charged due to
internal friction.

3. Transportation, storage & handling
3.1. Transportation
The RVA-X ATEX rotary valves are shipped assembled, palletized, and properly packed to prevent shifting and
damages during transport and handling. The RVA-X ATEX rotary valves should always be transported covered and
protected from atmospheric agents.
