Possible cause/Remedy
If the inhalation time with the same fill volume
and the same substance becomes consider-
ably longer, the following points should be
checked after the device is switched off.
- Is the cap of the medication reservoir cor-
rectly fitted and securely in place?
- Has the aerosol head been prepared for
hygienic reprocessing as described in
Chapter 5?
- Has the aerosol head been physically
damaged?
- Has the life cycle been exceeded (see sec-
tion "Life cycle", Chapter IMPORTANT IN-
FORMATION)?
After checking these points, a functional test
for aerosol heads should be carried out as
described in the following.
Functional test for aerosol heads in the
event of overly long nebulisation times
• Measure the nebulisation time with 2.5 ml
isotonic sodium chloride solution (0.9%)
without inhaling.
If it takes longer than 4 minutes to nebulise,
clean the aerosol head with the easycare
cleaning aid (item no. 078G6100). Additional
cleaning with the easycare cleaning aid can
help to shorten the nebulisation time as the
nebulising performance of the aerosol head
becomes less than optimal.
Please follow the instructions for use of the
easycare cleaning aid.
If the nebulisation time is longer than
5 minutes when using 2.5 ml isotonic saline
solution (0.9%) despite cleaning with the
easycare cleaning aid, the aerosol head must
be replaced.
Note:
Nebulisation times for certain medica-
tions may differ from the values indicated
above for isotonic sodium chloride solu-
tion (0.9%).
