2.4.5 Luggage Racks

When adding luggage on the bike, never exceed
the maximum permissible weight for the bike.
The maximum permissible weight is 180 Kg
including the driver, rear and front luggage.
For this bike this maximum weight for the rear
rack is: 80 kg
The maximum weight for the front rack is: 20
kg.
Children seats can only be used on rear racks,
that allow 27 kg weight or more.
Please only use safe, certified children´s seats.
The child must wear a helmet, their feet must be
tucked in and protected from any possible contact
with moving parts, such as spokes.
Never attach a childseat to the seat post!
Wrap and protect all springs and moving parts on
the saddle and seatpost. Ensure that the child can
not trap their fingers anywhere. This could result
in injury.
Make sure to always evenly distribute load of the
luggage of the racks on the bike. Make sure the
weight is evenly devided over the width- left/right
side of the racks and if possible between the rear
and front luggage racks.
Unfavourable mass distribution could
negatively affect the braking behaviour and
riding stability.
A childseat or other weight on the rear or front
luggage racks, changes the way your bike behaves
when riding. Take note of the longer braking
distances and the steering that could be less
stable. Practice riding with a child seat in a safe
area before using on public roads.
Make sure that luggage on the bike does not cover
the lights and reflectors.
The maximum amount of passengers on the
rear luggage rack is: 1 person up to 80 kg.
When you store your cargo bike, make sure the
centre of gravity of the entire cargo lies over the
longitudinal centerline of the bike. The centre of
cravity should be kept as low as possible.
