2.4.3 Wheels

Checking the wheels
The wheels are the point of contact between the
bike and the ground. Ground surface irregularities
and the weight of the cyclist put a significant strain
on wheels.
The wheels are carefully checked and aligned
before delivery. However, the spokes will align
themselves over the first few miles that you cycle.
Get your wheels checked by your approved
O2Feel reseller after travelling 100 kilometres and,
if necessary, get them realigned. After that, make
sure they are checked regularly when carrying out
maintenance on your bike.
Checking the rims
A worn rim loses stability and is therefore more
likely to get damaged. A misshapen, cracked or
broken rim can cause serious accidents. Stop
riding the bike if you notice any changes to the
rim. Ask your approved O2Feel reseller to check
the damaged rim.
Replace the rim as soon as you notice any marks
(grooves, coloured areas) anywhere on the rim, or
if an engraved marking disappears or any coloured
writing becomes worn.
Tyres
Do not exceed the stipulated inflation pressure for
the tyre. If you do, the tyre could burst.
Pump air into the tyre to achieve at least the
recommended minimum inflation pressure. If the
pressure is too low, the tyre could come away
from the rim.
The maximum and minimum inflation pressures
are usually indicated on the side of the tyre.
When changing tyres, only use the same kind
of tyre, with the same dimensions and the same
profile. Using different tyres may have a negative
effect on the handling characteristics of your bike.
This will potentially result in an accident.
Tyres are subject to wear. Check the tread,
pressure and condition of the sides of your tyres
regularly. Replace worn tyres before using your
bike.
Make sure you respect the dimensions of the
fitted tyre. They are indicated by standardised
references.
Quick release
The quick release handles of the wheel(s) must
be flush with the frontfork ends (frontwheel) and
frame (rearwheel) when locked.

2.4.4 Drive belt

For some of its bikes, O2feel uses the "Gates
carbon drive" belt system. The Carbon Drive belt
is right at the core of the drive. This belt drive
is an effective, sturdy alternative to traditional
bike chains. The patented Gates Carbon Drive
technology offers a longer lasting drive that
requires less maintenance.
What are the benefits of the Gates Carbon Drive
belt drive?
Cleanliness and minimal maintenance: No
lubrication is required. You can just wash the
belt drive with water.
The belt drive is really quiet compared with a
classic chain.
The Gates Carbon Drive system weighs less
than a chain transmission system, and so makes
better performance easier.
The drive belt must be correctly tensioned for the
Gates Carbon Drive system to work effectively.
Insufficient tension could lead to "skipping' where
the belt's teeth slide over the teeth of the rear
sprocket. Too much tension could damage the
rear hub bearings, reduce efficiency and increase
wear on the transmission.
Correct alignment of the belt has to be maintained
by an appropriate mechanic.
If you notice any of those situations or damages
on the belt, contact an approved O2Feel reseller.
Do not clean the belt with lubricants or high
pressure watercleaners.
