C LEA N IN G
To enjoy your heater for longer with excellent performance, be sure to perform the following maintenance activities on a
regular basis:
• Keep exterior surfaces clean.
• Use warm soapy water for cleaning. Never use flammable or corrosive cleaning products.
• While washing the unit, be sure to keep the area around the burner dry at all times.
• If the gas control is exposed to water in any way, do not attempt to operate it. This will need to be replaced.
• Do not obstruct the airflow. Keep heater parts such as the knob, burner and circulating air ducts clean. Signs of a possible
obstruction include:
• Smell of gas with flame color changing to yellow.
• The appliance does not reach the desired temperature.
• The brightness of the device is excessively uneven.
• The device makes noises.
• Spiders and insects nest in the burner or in the holes. This dangerous condition can damage the heater and make it unsafe
for use.
• Clean the burner holes with a heavy duty pipe cleaner. Compressed air can help remove small particles.
• Carbon deposits can create a fire hazard.
• Clean the heater dome with warm soapy water if ash deposits form.
• Check the tubing or flexible hose (at least once a month and every time the bottle is changed). If it shows signs of cracking,
breakage or other deterioration, it must be replaced with a new flexible hose of the same length and equivalent quality.
STO R AGE
• Store the appliance upright in a location protected from direct contact with the elements (rain, sleet, hail, snow, dust and
debris).
• If desired, cover the appliance with a cover designed to protect the exterior surfaces and prevent dust from entering the air
ducts.
• Disconnect the gas cylinder and move it to a safe, well-ventilated location outdoors. Do not store it in a place above 50°C.
• Always remove the AAA battery if it is not going to be used for a long time, as it may cause corrosion in the battery compart-
ment.
