Operation
7. Operation
The IR radiators are switched on and controlled via a separate control unit.
Depending on the type of control used, they are controlled either by the measured air temperature
or by the heat intensity (depending on the control unit).
Body distance
The recommended distance from the radiator to a person's body depends on the power of the
radiator.
For the Vitae 750 W, the recommended distance between radiator and person is at least ~50 cm.
The distance between the other radiators (350 - 500 W) should also not be less than approx. 15 cm.
Note that the Vitae radiators have a very high heat intensity. Too small a distance leads to rapid
excessive localised heat.
Sufficient spacing increases effective heat coverage. Each person feels the heat differently, so the
optimal distance can therefore be correspondingly different.
If the control unit used does not have a function for adjusting the heat intensity, this intensity can
be controlled directly in the cabin using the optionally available IR dimmer (product code 94 4954).
WARNING
Eye damage caused by short-wave IR radiation
Looking directly into the radiator for too long can lead to eye damage.
Do not look directly at the radiator for a long time (>3-5 sec.).
ƒ
Wear suitable safety glasses if required.
ƒ
WARNING
Fire hazard due to IR radiator being covered
Objects placed or hung on or directly in front of the IR radiator may ignite. There
is a risk of fire.
Do not place or hang objects on or in front of the IR radiator.
ƒ
In particular, the IR radiator must not be used to dry hand towels or bath towels.
ƒ
Inspect the cabin each time before switching on.
