5. General safety instructions

product.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result
in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Workplace safety
• Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Disorgan-
ised and unlit work areas can result in accidents.
• Do not work with the device in an explosive environ-
ment where flammable liquids, gases or dusts may
be located. The tool can create sparks which may
ignite the dust or vapours.
• Keep children and other people away while using the
tool. Distractions may cause you to lose control of
the device.
Specific safety instructions for compressed air
sandblasters

Check the device for any damage before putting it
into operation. If the device has any defects, it must
not be put into operation under any circumstances.

RISK OF EXPLOSION! The compressed air sand-
blasting gun must not be used in an environment
where there are gases/open flames/fire/gas-fuelled
water heaters.

NO SMOKING!

Therefore, only work in well-ventilated rooms.

Do not use oxygen or flammable gases as an ener-
gy source.
•
Never exceed the maximum permissible working
pressure of 3.5 bar. WARNING! RECOIL FORCES!
At high working pressures, recoil forces can occur
which can, under certain circumstances, lead to ha-
zards due to continuous loading.
•
RISK OF INJURY! Disconnect the device from the
compressed air source before repair and mainte-
nance work as well as before transport.
•
RISK OF INJURY! Remove the device from the
compressed air source to fill it with blasting material.
•
NOTE! Please observe the safety instructions of the
manufacturer of the sprayed material.

Only use materials suitable for the compressed air
sandblasting gun. Do not use quartz sand. There is
a risk of the formation of toxic silica dust.

Take precautions to ensure that other people are
not disturbed (dust development).
•
Ensure that the abrasive is collected so that it can be
disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
•
Do not remove any type plates. They are safety-re-
levant components of the appliance.
•
If you are inexperienced in handling the device, you
should be trained on how to use it safely.
•
WARNING! NOXIOUS DUST! Processing harmful
/ poisonous dusts poses a health risk for the ope-
rator or bystanders.
6. Residual risks
The product has been built according to state-of-the-
art and the recognised technical safety rules. However,
individual residual risks can arise during operation.
• Furthermore, despite all precautions having been met,
some non-obvious residual risks may still remain.
• Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety In-
structions" and the "Intended Use" together with the
operating manual as a whole are observed.
• Avoid accidental starting of the product: the oper-
ating button may not be pressed when inserting
the plug in a socket. Use the tool attachment that
is recommended in this operating manual. This is
how to ensure that your product provides optimum
performance.
