MINIMUM WINDOW OPENING
The required window opening depends on:
a. The performance of the exhaust system
in m³/h.
b. The size of the window in m².
c. The width of the opening gap in cm
(see Table 1).
In most kitchens, rectangular tilt-and-turn
windows are installed. If your window has
a different shape (e.g., round), consult your
installer or electrician for calculating the
minimum opening. The required minimum
opening for rectangular windows in a tilt-
and-turn position is provided in Table 1 as
an example.
1. Determine the exhaust performance
of your device in m³/h. You can find this
information on the nameplate or in the
device manual (e.g., range hood).

2. Measure the internal width and height
of the window to calculate its area in m²
(Width x Height = m², e.g., 0.8m x 1.0m
= 0.8m² = Window Size).
3. Refer to the table to find the required
gap size based on the exhaust
performance and window size.
4. Measure the internal gap size of your
window in the tilt position in cm.
The gap must not be smaller than
the required size. Larger openings
are beneficial.
5. If the gap size is smaller than the
required value, the window might only
achieve the required size in the turn
position. Even in the turn position, the
minimum gap size must be ensured.
Install the window transmitter in a way
that secures this minimum gap. We
recommend fixing the gap size with
a spacer.
