Operating and mounting instructions
IMPORTANT: Please change the pre-set factory code and replace it with a code of your choice.
NOTE: When changing the numerical code (mechanical or electronic lock), the door must always be open. With
the door open, check whether the new numerical code works.
2.2 Closing the door
Safes with two double-bit key locks:
Push the door firmly shut, turn the door handle anticlockwise as far as it will go and turn the two keys anticlockwise as
well. Now pull the keys out of the door.
For safes with left-hinged doors, the door handle must be turned clockwise when closing.
NOTE: Your safe is equipped with a certified double-bit security lock with "forced closure".
The key can only be removed when the lock is locked.
Safes with one or two mechanical combination locks:
The combination lock comes with its own operating instructions. Close the door analogous to the key lock version.
Safes with one or two electronic code locks:
The code lock comes with its own operating instructions. Close the door analogous to the key lock version.
IMPORTANT: After closing, make sure that the door is properly locked.
2.3 Key loss:
(only with key lock version)
You receive 2 double-bit keys for each key lock as standard. If one or more keys are lost, the lock must be replaced for
security reasons, otherwise the insurance cover will expire. If you need an additional key, please proceed according to the
enclosed "Key Order" form.
For security reasons, replacement keys can generally only be provided on presentation of an original key.
Keep your keys in a safe place. The safe will have to be forced open if you lose them, which will entail significant costs for
you.
2.4 Adjusting the shelves
The safe is equipped with height-adjustable shelves. Each shelf rests on four shelf supports, which are hooked into the
notches on the side wall of the safe. To adjust a shelf, it must be removed from the safe, and the four shelf supports can
then be hooked into the notch required.
3.
Anchoring and installation
3.1
General
If you want to insure the contents (material assets) of your safe, the professional anchoring of your safe with a dead
weight of less than 1000 kg is a minimum requirement according to the European standard DIN EN 1143-1. Coordinate
the general conditions regarding the installation site and anchoring with your property insurer.
The safe has an optimal protective function only after it has been attached to a solid part of a building. Please use only the
anchorage holes in the safe provided to make the necessary fixed connection. As standard, your safe is provided with two
anchoring holes in the floor. If the safe is to be connected to a burglar alarm system, the second anchoring hole must
be used for the breakaway detector. Depending on the model, your safe may also be equipped with additional anchoring
holes.
Proper anchoring must be carried out with at least one heavy-duty anchor. The following anchoring material -
approved by VdS - is supplied with the safe as standard:
2 × drop-in anchor EA II M16 (Ø20 mm; length 70 mm)
2 × hexagon head screw M16x50 incl. washers
1 × driving-in tool Ø20x300 mm
The drop-in anchor EA II M16 is suitable for high-strength substrates (at least concrete of grade C12/15 or a natural
stone with a dense structure) for flush-floor anchoring, i.e. without an additional floor structure above it, such as
screed, an insulation layer or tiles.
ATTENTION: If the supplied anchoring material cannot be used due to the nature of the substrate, the anchoring
material must be adapted to the conditions of the substrate.
