When the filler blocks are attached to the fence face down, the moulding must be placed on the table right side up. This is
the same position as the moulding will have when nailed between the ceiling and wall. Make 2 filler blocks 25 mm long.
Fasten the blocks securely to the fence. For the block face to point downward, you may need to drill new fastener holes in
the fence.

VERTICAL BEVEL CUTTING (Fig. 28)
To make a mitre cut in a workpiece in the vertical position (on edge), a spacer, such as the previously described auxiliary
fence, is required. The fence is located in the front position.

ANGLE SETTING FOR COMPOUND CUTS (Fig. 29)
A compound cut is a cut requiring both a mitre setting and bevel setting. This type of cut is used for making frames or boxes
that have sloping sides and are wide at one end and narrow at the opposite end. Compound cuts are "tricky" to make because
the mitre setting and bevel setting are directly related to each other. Every time the mitre setting is changed the bevel setting
must also be adjusted, and vice versa. Because it may take several tries to obtain the desired angle, it is advisable to make
test cuts on a scrap piece of wood.
