BLADE POSITION IN RELATION TO THE TABLE (Fig. 8)

NOTE: The mitre saw was assembled, aligned and inspected before shipment. Alignment should be checked again and any
adjustments made to insure accurate cuts.
1. Check mitre lock handle setting. The mitre lock handle should be in the 0°-position. To reset the mitre angle, turn the mitre
lock handle anticlockwise and press down on the index spring.
2. Lower the blade and lock the handle latch. Use a combination square to check blade squareness to the table. If the blade
does not contact the full length of the square, follow the alignment procedure.
a. Loosen the bevel lock handle.
b. Grasp the metal upper guard and move the powerhead to the left as far as it will go.
c. Loosen the right side bevel stop lock nut. Lower the bevel stop bolt down as far as it will go.
d. Grasp the metal upper guard again and move the powerhead until the blade is in contact with the full length of the square.
e. Tighten the bevel lock handle.
f. Use a 10 mm spanner to hold the bevel stop lock nut in place.
g. Use another spanner to turn the bevel stop bolt until it hits the bottom of the bevel stop lock nut.
h. Tighten the bevel stop lock nut.
3. Check the bevel indicator. If the indicator needs adjustment, use a philips screwdriver and slide the indicator to the 0° mark
on the scale.

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING BLADE SQUARENESS (Fig. 9)
1. To check blade squareness to fence, use a combination square. Place the square against the fence and blade as illustrated,
making sure that the blade is not being kept awy from the square by the saw teeth. The blade should be in contact with the
full length of the square.
2. If blade is not square to the fence, align it as follows:
a. Loosen mitre lock handle a half turn. The latch handle should still be secured with blade in lowered position.
CAUTION
To keep the saw from tipping over, steady the base with one hand while loosening the two bolts with the other hand.
b. With the unit securely resting on a large stable surface, tilt the unit by lifting up on one side of the base.
Loosen the two bolts of the side extension arm located on the underside of the table with a 6 mm allen key. Tilt the
unit by lifting up on one side of the base.
c. Return the saw to its normal resting position. Make sure the mitre lock handle is loose but do not release the index spring.
d. Use the mitre saw handle to swivel the table and saw so that the blade is in contact with the full length of the square.
Watch out for tooth set. Turn the mitre lock handle clockwise to lock the saw square to the fence.
e. Tilt the saw as in Step b and tighten the bolts.
f. Recheck blade squareness to fence and readjust if necessary.
