T 1210 R
ON
Switches the unit on and off. When the unit is switched
on and ready to use, the green LED above the switch
glows.
If the T 1210 R is connected to a 'R' series re-amplifier or
integrated amplifier then it can be switched to the
Standby state by pressing the
remote control unit.
When in Standby mode the unit is not completely
switched off.
Caution!
The mains button does not disconnect the unit
from the mains supply. Even when the green
LED is off, parts of the unit remain connected to
the mains supply. If the unit is not to be used
for a long period we recommend that you
disconnect the mains plug at the wall socket.

When a station is very weak or very distant, and can only
be received with serious background hiss, then you
should switch to MONO reception. This reduces back-
ground noise substantially.

The T 1210 R's basic reception mode is NARROW. At
this setting the tuner suppresses interference from
adjacent
transmitters,
reproduction quality even under difficult reception
conditions.
However, if reception conditions are very good, and if
there are no transmitters adjacent to the station selected,
then you can achieve even better results by switching to
the WIDE setting. The theoretical drawback of this mode
is reduced selectivity, so if you hear interference on the
WIDE setting, we suggest that you switch back to
NARROW.

If you are listening to a station close to an unusually
powerful local transmitter, you may hear intermodulation
effects (whistling and twittering sounds). If this happens,
switch on the input attenuator.
