These assembly instructions are aimed at trades-
persons who are familiar with assembly and installa-
tion of the CS outdoor cooling unit, and at trained
specialists who are familiar with operation of the CS
outdoor cooling unit.

1.1 Other applicable documents

For the unit types described here, the assembly,
installation and operating instructions are enclosed
with the unit in hard copy format.
We cannot accept any liability for damage associat-
ed with failure to observe these instructions. The
guides for the accessories used may also apply.

1.2 CE certification

The declaration of conformity is supplied with the unit
as a separate document.

1.3 Storing the documents

These instructions and all associated documents are
part of the product. They must be given to the plant
operator. The operator is responsible for storage of
the documents so they are readily available when
needed.

1.4 Symbols used

Please observe the following safety instructions and
other notes in this guide:

Safety notes

Electrical connection and any repairs may only
be carried out by authorised specialist personnel.
To prevent the enclosure from tipping over with the
cooling unit fitted, it is essential that this be bolted to
the floor.
Please observe the following general safety instruc-
tions when assembling and operating the unit:
Prior to mounting, ensure that:
– the site for the enclosure, and hence the arrange-
ment of the cooling unit, is selected so as to ensure
good ventilation.
– the location is free from excessive dirt and mois-
ture.
– the cut-out for air extraction is located in the upper
area of the enclosure.
– air inlet and outlet are not obstructed on the inside
(cf. also section 4.2.2).
– the mains connection ratings specified on the
rating plate are available.
– the ambient temperature does not exceed +55°C.
– the packaging shows no signs of damage. Pack-
aging damage may be the cause of a subsequent
functional failure.
– the enclosure is sealed on all sides. Condensation
will occur if the enclosure is leaky.
– the units are at least 200 mm from the wall.
– the heat loss of the components installed in the
enclosure does not exceed the specific useful
cooling output of the cooling unit.
– the customer must not modify the cooling unit in
any way.
– The unit must only be installed in the prescribed
vertical position.
Maximum deviation from the vertical: 2°.
– Drainage must be provided for any splashed water
that may occur.
– In order to achieve a permanent seal between the
cooling unit and the enclosure, the mounting sur-
face should be reinforced if necessary.
– Use only original spare parts!
