Installation Positioning
When choosing your instal ation ocation, make sure you can hear the alarm from al sleeping areas.
f you instal on y one smoke detector in your home, instal the detector ascose to the bedrooms as
possible, and not in a basement or furnace room.
. Prioritize the installation of a detector in the bedroom and walkways. n a home with severa
bedrooms, instal one detector in every bedroom.

detector in the middle of the ceiling where possible. Ensurethat the detector is installed at the
minimum distance away from corners.
