5. Preparation work
a. Unpacking and checking components
Remove basic disposer and all accessory parts from the packaging and remove/dispose of
packaging material.
Check that you have all parts and inspect for visible damage before installing the new
disposer.
DANGER – risk of suffocation
Keep fi lm packaging away from children.
b. Installation location
The disposer is designed to operate beneath a sink within a closed room, usually a kitchen.
The ambient temperature must be between 10 °C and 43 °C. The disposer must thus be
installed in a frostproof room only. Avoid direct sunlight.
c. Electrical connection
WARNING – warning of electrical voltage
Carry out all electrical connection and installation work in accordance with
regulations.
There must be an electrical socket outlet close to the disposer. The connection cable with
plug is designed for a safety socket outlet. The socket must be freely accessible after the
disposer is installed. It is not permitted to use a (permanently installed) electrical line
connected directly to the power supply.
Do not use multiple sockets or extension leads. The disposer may only be connected to an
earthing-type socket outlet and a residual current circuit breaker (RCD) that has a fuse of at
least 12 amperes and provides a permanent power supply of 230 V ~ / 50 Hz.
d. Kitchen sink
The following must be observed when fi tting the disposer to a kitchen sink:
1. Diameter of the sink drain: 3 ½''
2. Sink material thickness: max. 18 mm
3. The waste water connection must not be higher up than the disposer's drain opening.
e. Required tools and materials
You require the following to install the disposer:
- Hex key (included in the scope of delivery)
- Slotted-head screwdriver
- Pozidrive screwdriver PZ 2
- Protective eyewear
- Cut protection gloves
- Blade knife
- Optional: hammer (only when the dishwasher is connected to the disposer)
