2. Safety
a. Proper use
The food waste disposer (hereinafter referred to as "the disposer") is designed to shred
organic kitchen waste such as preparation waste or food leftovers and dispose of this waste
in the sewage system via the drain. The disposer is intended for use in private households
and home environments.
The disposer must not be used for other purposes, such as washing hair, clothes or
pets. Any other or additional use is considered improper. Correct usage also includes
observing these instructions. Negligent use, improper handling, opening the disposer up
and non-compliance with the specifi cations in the operating instructions will lead to the
warranty becoming void.
b. General safety precautions
WARNING – injury
Children aged 8 or over and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lacking in experience and knowledge may only use the disposer
under supervision or if they undergo a suitable briefi ng on safe usage and they
are aware of the associated risks and hazards. Such people must not clean the
disposer without supervision. Children must not play with the device.
Although the disposer does not contain sharp knife blades, injury cannot be ruled
out due to the high speed of the grinding tools if people reach down very deeply
into the disposer when it is working.
Do not reach into the disposer with your fi ngers while it is in operation and do not
insert any long objects into the grinding chamber.
Always disconnect the mains plug before using your hands to clean the inside of
the grinding chamber or remove foreign objects from the grinding chamber.
CAUTION – damage
The user must protect the disposer against frost.
WARNING – damage
Waste water leaking unnoticed can cause damage.
Check the hose, pipe and sink connections for leaks on a regular basis.
DANGER – electric shock
Attention: live parts. Electrical components in the disposer and the switch box must
not be opened under any circumstances.

3. Safety
a. General safety precautions
Only a trade professional/qualifi ed technician may install the disposer, put it into operation
or repair it.
The disposer must be installed as described in these instructions. Only approved original
parts and original accessory parts may be used, which you can obtain from BLANCO (see
Section 1 a for contact details) or from your contractual partner/specialist retailer.
