4. Operating and Safety
Instructions
4.1 Safety Instructions
Danger due to electricity
Before servicing the unit, it must be disconnec-
ted from the power supply. The circuit must be
disconnectable either by unplugging the power
supply or using a bipolar power switch at the
outlet.
If there is any damage to the power supply, it
must be replaced by the manufacturer or by a
qualified technician.
Do not use extension cables or multiple adap-
ters.
Ensure that the voltage specified on the rating plate
matches that of the installation location.
EN
The electrical connections must comply with
local standards.
BWT MIXXO has been designed and constructed
in accordance with the Low Voltage Directive
2006/95/EC and the protection regulations of
EC Directive 2004/108 EMC.
» Be sure to comply with all country-specific in-
stallation regulations (e.g., DIN 1988, EN 1717),
general hygienic conditions, and technical
data for the protection of drinking water.

» The installation location must be frost-free
and protected from direct sunlight. Do not in-
stall near heat sources or open flames.
» Chemicals, solvents, and vapors must not
come into contact with the filter system.
Never operate the BWT MIXXO without the
BWT filter cartridge. Please check the system
carefully for possible damage.
For proper operation, make sure the faucet le-
ver is fully set to "Cold". Otherwise, the water
will mix with unfiltered hot water.
The flow rate is noticeably reduced when fil-
tered water is taken. In exceptional cases (e.g.
low system pressure) the flow reduction may be
very small.
4.2 Remote Control
The remote control is the operating element of
the BWT MIXXO appliance. It is equipped with a
push button and various light signals.
BWT MIXXO connects the cold water supply to
an existing faucet and a BWT filter cartridge.
The remote control can be used to switch bet-
ween filtered and unfiltered water.
When the cold water supply is opened, the BWT
MIXXO is by default in standby mode. This me-
ans that in standard mode the water comes out
of the tap unfiltered.
Switching to filtered water via BWT MIXXO
can be activated in two ways:
1) When the cold water supply is closed, BWT
MIXXO is activated by pressing the button on
the remote control. You now have 10 seconds
to open the cold water side of the faucet.
2) When the cold water supply is open, the wa-
ter is directed through the BWT filter system
by pressing the button on the remote control.
Fading blue lights on the remote control indi-
cate that filtered water is supplied to the fau-
cet. After closing the water supply, BWT MIXXO
remains activated for 10 seconds so that more
glasses can be filled. After 10 seconds, standby
mode is activated and unfiltered raw water is
supplied.
Light signals on the remote:
The remote control uses light signals to indicate
whether the BWT MIXXO is activated and to indi-
cate the capacity of the cartridge in use:
A) Blue light signal: BWT MIXXO activated, ca-
pacity OK.
B) Yellow light signal: Warning: e.g: Capacity
of the BWT filter cartridge will soon be ex-
hausted.
C) Red light signal: Warning: e.g: Capacity of
the BWT filter cartridge is exhausted.
D) An additional light in the lower right corner
indicates the remote's battery status. A red
light indicates that the remote needs to be
charged. Use the included USB-C charging
cable to charge your remote.
Purple signal light: A purple signal light on the
remote control indicates that the software of
the remote control is being updated or that pai-
ring mode is activated.
