SELECTING THE NUMBER
Of CyCLES
When the sharpener moves the
Grinding Ring
skate blade once, it is called a cycle.
When sharpening your first pair of skates, we recommend
sharpening with six cycles. This allows the Sparx BEAM
an accurate reading on the alignment of your sharpener.
We have found that four cycles will handle normal wear and tear
(and even small nicks) from one to four hours of skating between
sharpenings. For brand-new steel or when changing
hollow depths, we recommend using ten cycles to ensure you
completely reset the skating surface of the blade.
