The rear swingarm of Birdys since model year 2001 is catched by a black plastic part which is called
"Spoon".
Scope of delivery
1x Spoon
1x „SPD"-plate
2x washer (d = 5,3 mm DIN 125 A2)
2x round head bolt (M 5 x 12 mm ISO 6912 A2)
Assembly
1. For easy assembly tape down plate
2. Slightly tighten bolts
Bolt
must touch the seat tube.
3. Adjust spoon
4. Fix position of spoon by tightening bolts

Functional check
Spoon
must engage automatically when unfolding the Birdy. Between spoon
tension

If the tension is no longer sufficient for the catch to engage, you need to pre-tension the catch:
fold the rear swing-arm slightly forwards, remove the elastomer and bend the plastic catch firmly
inwards for a few seconds.
