EN - Instructions for use
30 Installation after a central suction system (waste water > 2 l/min)
The ECO II+ Tandem D (Germany) is installed in the waste water pipe after the central suction system
with water/air separation (waste water outlet).
Installation in the suction line before a liquid ring pump
In liquid ring systems, the ECO II+ and the ECO II+ Tandem are installed in the suction line before
the liquid ring pump.
3.3
Installation
Mounting module 1 (mounting element/wall bracket): Slide the two mounting elements toge-
31
ther as in the picture.. The clips snap into place by pressing them together.
For the mounting the following minimal space is required (H x W x D): 360 x 165 x 202 mm.
32
Position mounting element on an even floor space or fix onto wall with suitable screws.
Mounting module 2: Place module 2 on the device (36-1) and fasten it with the tensioning
33
straps on both sides..
Hose connections:
34
34-1 - Waste water inlet: waste water from the dental unit or from the central suction system;
34-2 - Waste water outlet: cleaned waste water directly to the sewage pipe
Installation ECO II+ versions:
35
36
The waste water must be able to drain off freely into the sewage pipe! Secure
fittings and tubes with clips!

Filter
A pre-filter with a mesh size of ≤ 4 mm must be installed upstream of the ECO
II+. With METASYS suction devices, this is already permanently installed on the
suction machine. The pre-filter must be cleaned daily.

Care and maintenance

4.1
Regular cleaning measures
After every treatment:
i
To remove residues from the lines and the suction system, the rinsing basin must
be operated briefly after each treatment and each suction hose must be flushed
with cold water.
GREEN&CLEAN M2:
2 x daily (noon/evening) and after surgical interventions, disinfection must be carried out with the
prescribed disinfectant and cleaning agent GREEN&CLEAN M2. Ideally, GREEN&CLEAN M2 should
be used prior to the treatment unit remaining at a standstill for extended periods (lunchtime, end of
the day or holidays). For information on use and safety instructions, see the GREEN&CLEAN M2
instructions for use.
It is not permitted to operate the ECO II+ amalgam separator without a pre-filter
in the treatment units and/or the central suction system!
The residues containing amalgam from the pre-filter can be collected in the
METASYS ECOCENTER and properly disposed of with ECOTRANSFORM.
The installed pre-filter must be cleaned daily.
4.2
Replacement intervals
The maximum service life (replacement interval) of the ECO II+ amalgam separator results from the
chosen installation option and the number of operators.

The resulting exchange interval must be observed! The ECO II+ must be replaced
as soon as the maximum filling level has been reached, or 1x a year even if the
maximum filling level has not yet been reached.
4.3
Filling level
A label on the ECO II+ collection container shows the filling level (100%, 95%) The label
44
enables the user to monitor the filling level (see Appendix: General technical approval / DIBT).
When using insoluble air abrasion powders the service life/replacement intervals
need to be defined in the applicant's responsibility considering the expected con-
sumption of the abrasion powder.
The water level must not be exceeded during operation. If this mark is exceeded
during operation, a service technician must be contacted.
When the ECO II+ is not in operation, i.e. when the suction system is not running,
the liquid level must be within the range of the „MIN. OPERATING WATER LEVEL"
mark. Check the operating water level daily.
4.4
Replacing the collection container
The ECO II+ collection container must be exchanged according to the replacement intervals as defi-
ned in the replacement interval table.
Risk of contamination:
To avoid infection, wear personal protective equipment (hand, eye, nose and
mouth protection) and disinfect and clean the device!
Avoid contact with the contents of the amalgam separator!
It is not possible to open the ECO II+ and reuse it! Every attempt to open the
amalgam separator results in the malfunction of the device. Moreover, the required
separation rate will no longer be achieved!
Remove the adapter with the tube at the waste water inlet and waste water outlet.
45
Tightly close the outlet of the full amalgam separator with the sealing plug (supplied with the
46
amalgam separator) and secure with a clip.
Release the tensioning straps on both sides of the container (52-1) and remove the full amal-
47
gam separator upwards.
Position the full amalgam separator horizontally onto an even surface, make sure that the
inlet opening is pointing upwards!
48
Pour disinfectant for suction systems into the full collection container (20 ml GREEN&CLEAN
M2).
49
Afterwards also tightly close the inlet opening with the sealing plug and secure with a clip.
50
Put the amalgam separator into the styrofoam shells, then place into the cardboard box.
Place the new amalgam separator on the fixture (56-1) and secure it with the tensioning
51
straps on both sides.
52
Reconnect the adapter with the tube to the "IN" and "OUT" openings.
Check inlet and outlet of the ECO II+ for tightness!
