1 - GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

l Caution! – Important safety information. Do not discard.
l Caution! – It is important to follow these instructions to ensure safety. Therefore,
read this manual carefully before beginning work.
l This manual has been especially written for use by qualified fitters.
l Given the hazards attendant on installation, for reasons of safety the installation must be
done in observance of established local laws and regulations.
l Therefore, only open the housing and make connections with the power switched off.
l In conformity with electrical regulations, install an electrical disconnection unit on the power
line to completely cut off mains power under overvoltage category III conditions. The dis-
connection unit is not supplied with the product.
l The interface should preferably be installed inside an electrical enclosure fitted with DIN
rails.
l Make the connections exactly as specified. An incorrect connection may be dangerous
and cause damage to the system.

2 - PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED USE

TTPCI is an electronic device for interfacing Nice equipment with other automation sys-
tems. The standard interfaces (serial / Ethernet) allow Nice products to be operated and
controlled on the "BusT4" channel. There are also 4 opto-isolated inputs and 4 relay outputs
for handling input signals and electrical loads. The module is designed for installation in an
enclosure with DIN mounting rails.
3 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (operating limits)
l Power: 90-240 V AC; 50/60Hz. l Isolation: Class II. l Consumption: 2 W (in stand-
by); 4 W (maximum). l Operating temperature: from -10°C to +50°C l Storage tem-
perature: from -40°C to +70°C l Inputs: 4 opto-isolated: • Min/max low voltage: 12V DC
/ 30V DC. • Min/max high voltage: 12V AC / 250V AC. Note – Safety regulations require
that all inputs be either high or low voltage. Mixed configurations are not permitted. l Out-
puts: 4 relay: • Low voltage: operating voltage 24V DC; operating current 2A 30V DC re-
sistive. • High voltage: operating voltage 250V AC; operating current 2A 250V AC resistive.
Note – Safety regulations require that all relay outputs be either high or low voltage. Mixed
configurations are not permitted. l Ports: 1 x RS232; 1 x "BusT4"; 1 x Fast Ethernet.

4 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

4.1 - Power
Caution! – The power supply hookup may only be done by qualified and experienced per-
sons in possession of the necessary requisites and in full observance of established local
laws, standards and regulations.
The interface is powered at 230V AC, 50/60Hz. The electrical hookup is shown in fig. 1.
4.2 - Connection interfaces
The RS232, Ethernet and "BusT4" ports are always active (fig. 1). You can connect/discon-
nect devices without the need to shut off power.
CAUTION! • Power disturbances (over 4 kV) can reset the interface, and cause the network
and serial connections to drop. • To use the "BusT4" port, you must select activate (or de-
activate) the "BusT4" termination (fig. 1). In these cases, contact the Nice Service Center.
4.3 - Inputs
The interface is equipped with 4 opto-isolated inputs. You must supply them with at least
12V DC to activate them. Fig. 2 shows an example hookup with an external contact to ac-
tivate input 1 (IN 0).
