The drilling spindle:
(I:5), with morse taper No. 3, adjustable joumalled in one lower roller hearing and
one upper hearing.
The tool pusher:
Is placed under the switch and fumised with a handle. When pusing out the tool
please do it in the following manner:
Feed the spindle down about 5 mm.
Carry the handle of the tool pusher to the right.
By the down feed lever carry the spindle against its top dead centre.
At the same time hold the tool to avoid it fälling down.
Carry the handle of the tool pusher to the left.
A new tool can now be placed in the taper.
THE SPINDLE GEARBOX
Fig. IV has gears of steel and fibre. All gears are always in the same meshing.
Shifting of gears is done via clutch shoulders of hardened steel (IV:60) running on
keys in respective shafts and operated by clutch yokes (IV: 61 ).
The gear box gives 4 numbers of revolution. The motor has 2 speeds (2800/1400),
which together give the machine 8 spindle speeds.
Shifting of gears is done by two levers (III:43). The speed of the motor is regulated
by the switch (II:22). The correct combination of these adjustment for each number
of spindle revolution is shown on the spindle speed plate (II:23).
OVERLOAD PROTECTION
Fig. V:70 is built in between the shaft of the worm screw (V:71) and the gear (V:72).
The transmissible moment is limited by the tension of spring washers which press
two friction washers against the gear (V:72). When the spring tension is able to hold
the gear, the rotating movement is transmitted from the drill spindle to the feed box.
If the feed box is overloaded the gear slips and will not actuate the gear screw.
The transmissible moment is so set at the factory that the feed system should not be
damaged by drill breakage or other obstacles for normal feeding.
In case adjustment of the protection is necessary the nut (V:73) is tumed -to the right
for barder adjustment - to the left to reduce the tension.
